Media Companies

Besides two public broadcasting services, Radio Television Serbia and Radio Television Vojvodina, which were founded by the Republic of Serbia, majority of media companies are privately owned. Although state formally withdrew itself from direct media ownership it still makes significant influence through allocation of state money and advertisements. As per rule, media owned by companies and individuals close to government have easier access to state supporting mechanisms. Majority of media companies are Serbian based and registered as limited liability companies (doo).
