Radio S 2

Radio S 2 mainly produces entertainment programs with some occasional news. Popular music is in the focus with easy-going radio hosts that like to connect with the audience trough quizzes or call-ins. With an audience share of 6.1%, Radio S 2 is among the top 10 Serbian national radio stations. Since December 2015, it broadcasts on a national frequency that once belonged to student Radio Index. Although owned by two separate companies, the final beneficiary owner of Radio S 2 is Ljubinka Andjelkovic, the mother of senior Socialist Party of Serbia member Zoran Andjelkovic Baki.

Founded in 1992 by the University of Belgrade, Radio Index broadcast based on a shared frequency agreement with RTS, who provided technical support and RTS's Studio 15 for 15 hours a day for free.

Radio Index continued to broadcast as a University radio station until 1998 when forced to move out of RTS, strictly controlled by Milosevic at the time. It continued to broadcast as a pirate radio station covering live the fall of Milosevic on 5th October 2000.

During the national frequency allocation process in 2006, Radio Index received a national frequency from the Republic Radio-diffusion Agency (RRA). It was speculated at the time that Index secured this frequency not for its quality of program but rather through personal connections. Four members of the RRA, the very decision maker in the process of allocating frequencies, once occupied leading positions at Radio Index,  working as editors, directors or program directors. One of the owners, Zoran Mihajlovic (88% of the shares) and president of the Association of Professional Emitters even publicly confirmed personal connections to the president of The Advisory Board of RRA at the time. Both of them had worked together at Radio Index during the 90's.

Ownership structure between 2006 and 2015 remains unclear, alghtough several address or management changes were reported.
