Maja Rakovic told Story magazine that she worked in public administration in the 1990s, but that she'd always wanted to have a radio station, so she quit her job and set up Naxi. Rakovic is a representative of the Association of Radio Stations RAB Serbia. Members of this association are often members of commissions that decide on the allocation of money to the media from local budgets. In 2017, before RAB, Rakovic was elected as a member of the Ministry of Culture's working body to develop a media strategy. Although the representatives of the largest journalist associations withdrew from this body shortly after its establishment, Rakovic and other members remained in it and continued to work on the strategy. The developed strategy never came into force because it was stopped after consultations between President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Ana Brnabić. A new working group was then set up with the mediation of OSCE representatives, this time with representatives of the largest associations. Maja Rakovic was a member of this group, and she is a member of the working group for the development of the media strategy of the Republic of Serbia until 2023.

Rakovic told Wannabe magazine that she is proud of the 20 years of the radio station's existence and that she is always trying to introduce new things into the radio programme.
