Michael Ringier

Ringier studied journalism and worked for several media companies in Switzerland and Germany before joining Ringier in 1983. Two years later he became CEO of the company founded by his family in 1833. Ringier has been Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2003. He also collects art and has one of the richest private collections in Europe. Part of this collection is on display in Zurich. The company, in which he and his sister are majority shareholders, now has around 140 companies in its portfolio. Within this company there are more than 110 media companies. In addition to media, the group also operates brands that deal with ticket sales for events, entertainment, marketing, online sales and online offers for cars, real estate and employment. Ringier also has several publishing companies.
